mr. a. e. bouillon discovered in te aroha reserve beside revolver SUFFERED ILL HEALTH

HAMILTON, Tuesday. Mr. A. E. Bouillon, relieving manager of the Bank of New Zealand, at Te Aroha and until recently manager of the hank's Hamilton branch, who had been missing since 11.15 a.m. yesterday was found dead at Te Aroha at 7 o'eloclc this morning in the borough reserve behind the town. A revolver lay alongside the body. Last week-end Mr. Bouillon arrived at Te Aroha to relieve Mr. F. L. Kenriek, manager, for two months while the latter was on holiday. Yesterday morning, Mr. Bouillon stated to Mr. Kenriek' that he did not feel well, and the latter, on his own volition, sent for a medical man. Before the latter's arrival a clerk informed Mr. Kenriek that Mr. Bouillon had gone out and the bank revolver was missing. Mr. Kenriek became concerned, and spent all the afternoon and well ! into the evening along the river

banks searching, but with no result. At an early hour this morning Mr. Kenriek resumed the search, and found the dead body in the lower land south of Herries Domain. The revolver was a five-chambered one. One bullet had entered the vicinity of the heart. An inquest was opened later before Mr. J. Motley, coroner. Evidence was given by Mr. F. L. Kenriek, manager of the Bank of New Zealand, relative to deceased leaving the bank yesterday about noon and the search made along the banks on eaeh side of the river, and the body being found this morning. The inquest v/as adjonrned sine die. The late Mr. Auguste Ernest Bouillon was born at Jersy in 1878, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene

Bouillon, of Muneville, Normandy. He came to New Zealand with his parents when he was 9 years of age. After attending the Gisborne High School, of which he was dux for a ueriod, he entered the service of the Bank of New Zealand at the age of 14. Mr. Bouillon served at Cambridge and Auckland, first going to Hamliton in 1920 in the position of acconntant. Transferred to Hastings as manager in 1922, he returned in August, 1924 to assume the management of the Hamilton branch. A short time ago he was appointed relieving manager, and was to have retired on superannuation in a few months, when he would have completed 40 years' service with the bank. Mr. Bouillon was keenly interested in the social and business aetivities of Hamilton, being a member of the Rotary Club, Operatic Society, Shakepearean Society and League of Nattions Union. He was at one time president of the Operatic Society and was an accomplished actor and stage manager.
