BRITISH NAVY'S DISMAL RECORD THIS YEAR PERIODICAL'S COMPLAINT

LONDON, Monday. Jane's Annual, "Fighting Ships," says there has been so little to tell of the British Navy, only a dismal record of the scrapping of four Iron Dukes and many cruisers, destroyers and submarines. Oii the contrary, Italy has six cruisers and 24 destroyers capable of 40 knots an hour, oue destroyer Teaching a record of 44 knots. France is preparing for the trials of the giant submarine, Surcous, and is .still pondering how to answer Germany's pocket battleships.
