offer to build line to eastern suburbs ACCEPTED WITHOUT TENDER

Rec. Dec. 13. 5.5 p.m. SYDNEY, Sunday. The Sydney "Sun" said that the. New South Wales Government has decided to enter into an agreement with the Victoria Construction Proprietary Ltd., which comprises a group of wealthy Victorians, for building the Eastern Suburbs railway, regarding which there has heen a continuous agitation. The cost of the line will he between £7,000,000 and y.S.OOO.OOOO.
It is understood that the eonstructors are financing the undertaking and finding the neeessary ready cash, which will he paid baek in bonds, subject to the Loan Council' s consent. The "Sun" adds that the New South Wales Government has aceepted this offer without tender which has been the cause. of criticism. The Eastern Suburbs railway will serve Bondi, Coogee, and other popular suburbs which are now reached by tram.
