TREES IN STREETS
R.M.B.
B.H.
(To the Editor). Sir, — Another tree has been uprooted in Tutanekai Street to-day. Are they all to go with no protest. Where does our town beautifying come in? Can we do nothing to preserve the one beauty of our main street? We are shop-keepers and ratepayers, but are more than willing to combat the dust nuisance that our trees may remain. Surely the water cart in regular use would be better than this wanton destruction. Will any one support a petition to retain them? If so, please come forward before it is too late and further desecration takes place. Our editor will, we feel sure, take the names of any willing to protect the beauty Rotorua already has. Thanking-you for your space. — We are, etc.
