NATION'S ATTITUDE five year plan may make russia the world's chief exporter warning to britain
— By Telegraph— Copyright).
Rec. Dec. 8, 7.0 p.m. LONDON, Monday. The Chamber of Commerce, in its report on Russian trade, emphasises that the nations must reconsider their attitude toward Russia, whose enormous natural wealth the Soviet is rapidly materialising. The report says that it is impossible to cut her out of the community of nations, whatever her politics. "The Five Year Plan progresses in production so that Russia may in a few years be the world's greatest producer of oil, coal, pig iron, steel, timber, chemicals, grain, sugar, furs, cotton and dairy produce. She may be able to under-sell any country if allowed to continue her present export policy. Great Britain cannot tolerate the existing unequal trade balance, especially when Russia's payments for exports to England are used to buy tools from England's competitors."
