LONDON, Sunday. Mr. W. R. Devereux, representative of the Australian Wooirgrowers' Coun-. cil, in his report, covers many clips of wools, including the representative sqction of the London saies. Yorkshire is operating more freely and competition is wider. Germany and Alace are buying steadily and the North of France is also participating better. The lower te.ndenqy in Merino^ which was noticeable earlier in the series has now disappeared. Greasy sorts are hardening, and lower qualities, like sixties, also the finer crossbreds, have sharpenqd in demand af 5 to 7i pqr cent ., decline. Heavy withdrawals of medium and lpw crqssbreds followed the first adverse reporf pf the New Zealand markets, but with improvement in tne repprts ■ qqmpetition revived. ; Sqoured Merinos, excqpt the very bes.t, are easier., There is a better tone at Bradford. , The machinery is well employed. The restrictive effect of the British duties on manpfaqturqs adversely affeeted the. Continqntal markqt. French de,.mand is quiet and Belgian prices are unchangqd, while Germany's wqqk's sale pf tpps were 575,000 kilos.
