(Press Assn.-
disaster if present government returned VIEWS OF MR. S. M. BRUCE
-By Telegraph — Copyright.)
LONDON, Thursday. Mr. E. G. Theodore's speech in opening his campaign is the best' evidence of the necessity for a change in Government, deciared Mr. S. M. Bruce, , former Prime Minister of Australia. Fortunately the Senate prevented Mr Theodore from giving effect to hisdangerous and wild schemes for eurrency and banking. "Australia has weathered the greatest storm in her history despite, and not because of Mr. Theodore," Mr. Bruce concluded, "but all she has accomplished will be dissipated if Mr. Theodore is returned to the treasury. Under a Government led by Mr. Lyoris the progressive improvement would coritinue, but if Mr. Scullin is reinstated with Mr. Theodore's financial policy . the growing confidence would be destroyed, the currency deprec- ■ iated, the purchasing power of wages reduced, and disaster would overwhelm the people, notably the working class;"
