PUBLICATION OF ELECTION RESULTS STAFF'S FINE EFFORT
-By Telegraph — Copyright).
WELLINGTON, Thurs. So thorough were the arrangements made for the receipt of returns from various parts of the country that the result of the election was made known to the people in record tirne. The fact that there was no licensing poll contributed towards lightening the labours of the returning officers and clerks. The main factor, however, was the exeellent disposition of forces made by the Chief Returning Officer, Mr. L. G. Hodgkins and the Secretary o'f the P. and T. Department, Mr. G. McNamara. The loyal co-operation of the telegraph and electoral staffs throughout the Dominion was refiected in the busy scene at the G.P.O., which was the headquarters for the colleetion of returns.
