MAMAKU PASS OLD BOYS
Batting only nine players Old Boys eollapsed against Mamaku at the High School Grounds and their innings closed with eight wickets down for the small total of 67 runs. Matthews, who went in first wicket down and played throughout the innings was responsible for 27 runs of this total and was the highest scorer. The only other batsman to reaeh double figures were Matthews and Cottrell who both seored 10 runs. Reid, four wickets, and Faulkner, three, did most of the damage -for Mamaku. The Mamaku batsmen were in scoring mood, the first three players, D. Simmons . (57), A. Simmons (33), and Nankervis (30) all striking form and being responsible for 120 runs. The score was ed along by the later batsmen and at stumps it stood at 218 runs for eight wickets, Faulkner and Price being not out with 14 runs apiece.
