Although giving a number of chan- | ces, Lewis, who was credited with an unbeaten 22 runs at the elose of the 1 first day's play, was still undefeated j at the end of the innings, having contributed 76 runs toward his side's total. During the co'urse of his innings, Lewis hit .5 sixers. Requiring 145 runs to pass the [ first innings total of their opponents, 1 High School set -out to wipe off the ' deficit, P, Bergham (25), Tnrgett (24) and T. Bergham (25) contributing good scores towards this end. Half an hour before stumps, however, High School still required 40 runs, and in an endeavour to avoid an innings defeat. Ashby and Budd commenced a stonewall, which Was very nearly effective. The last ball of the day, however, was distastrous to the High School team, Ashby being well caught by D. Sheaf, who thereby gave his team an outright win hy .an innings and 31 runs.
