Rec. Nov. 26, 7.0 p.m. NEW YORK, Thursday. Two distinguished cinema stars are on the point of death from illness. Tom Mix lies in a state of coma in the Hollywood hospital suffering from gangrene, which developed after an emergency operation for appendicitis. Lya De Putti is in hospital here, suffering from pneumonia, which developed after a throat operation necessitated by a slight chicken bone scratch. e '
