NAPIER, Monday. The Mayor, Mr. J. Yigor Brown, who had been nominated an an Independent Coalition candidate for the Napier seat, announced his withdrawal at a meeting at Westshore to-night. Mr. Brown gave as his reason that he had come to the conclusion that the present was a time when personal feelings should be put on one side. He had therefore decided to sink. Jiiis own ambitions and give the electors a clear-cut issue, so that they might have the choice of a' representative from either of the acknowledged pagties.
