(To the Editor.) Sir, — Being a Reformer in full accohd with "the Goalition I went to Mr. Rans.om's meeting last hight to see why the United candidate should be- preferred to the Reform. It was not mentioned' in the " speeeh, hut a question was put forward asfcing whether any speeial reason ex'sted why all sittipg 'niemhers should he • returned.- Mr. Ransom said" this had nothing to do with his meeting. • If Mr. Ransom eould come all the |*way from Wellington without any massage in this direction; if it is a matter of no impo'r.tance, to h:m whether the Coalition is supported by a United or a Reform member; then certainly we need'not hesitate about suporting our own* man, particlarly when we feel satisfied- that. the only candidate with a chance of beating Lahotir- is* Mr.' Yaile. — I am, ■ etc.,
