PRISONER WHO KICKED
attempt to rescue brother from police AUCKLAND, Thursday. Two brothers, Leo Augustus and Daniel South, appeared hefore Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court this morning, charged with being drunk and resisting a constable. A 1 charge of mischief by damaging a taxi curtain was also brought against Daniel South. Both admitted the first charge, but denied that they had resisted. Constable Quirke said he was called to a Parnell hotel yesterday afternoon. He arrested Leo South, and Daniel South had attempted to free his brother. This performance was repeated in the taxi. Daniel had ■ kjcked all the way to the police sta- - tion. Both men were sent to gaol for a month.
