MR BODKIN ADVOCATES IRRIGATION FOR OTAGO DUNEDIN, Wednes. The irrigation of the dry lands in Central Otago and the development of the gold mining industry were advocated by the Coalition candidate for Central Otago, Mr. W. A. Bodkin, in an address at Oturehua on Tuesday night. Mr. Bodkin stated that a large area in Central Otago coqld be commanded by water. If that step could be provided within three years the land would provide a prosperous livelihood for all the people that Were unemployed in New Zealand to-day. Regarding mining, he stated the Government's duty was to spend wisely and well under the guidance of experts.
