RESPONSE IN DOMINION ; UNEXPECTEDLY GOOD LOWER FEES NEXT TIME

WELLINGTON, Tuesday. . More than 3,000 letters were sent from New Zealand to connect with the Australia-London air mail which has been organised by Australian National Airways and which will reach Sydney on Saturday. The mails were f orwarded by the Ulimaroa and Marama. The number of letters despatched by the vessels is as follows:— Ulimaroa from Auckland 1555; Marama from Wellington 1598. The response has exeeeded expectations, being many times greater thaii that accorded the flight organised by Imperial Airways earlier in the year. The fees for the next service will he eonsiderahly lower. No New Zealand flights were arranged to connect with the Imperial Airways fiight, as was done in the present instanee. Details of the use made of the InvercargillAuckland and the Auckland-Welling-ton flights for internal letters are not yet available.
