HOWARD TAKES N.S.W. TITLE PHENOMENAL ROUND SYDNEY, Sunday. The professional golf title "of New South Wales went to T. E. Howard who defeated Spence 13 up and 11. At the end of a phenomenal mornup. Although Spence made a great ing round of 57, Howard was eight figiit in the afternoon, he was outplayed, Howard never making a mistake. When the match finished he had averaged 4 under f ours. The j score was the record for the final of any Australian championship. . j Howard, who is 43 years of age, won the Open Championship of Australia in 1923, and the Professional Championship in 1925. Other notable victories by him include the Apiateur Championship of New South Wales from 1919 to 1921. He turned. professional in 1921.
