OCTOGENERIAN WRITES TWO REMARKABLE LETTERS BEFORE SUICIDE ACTS AFTER C^REFUL THOUGHT LONDON, Monday. An 80-year-old company director, who went to Brighton, took veronal. He then hired a taxi and went} to the Devil's Dyke where he dropped over a cliff. He left a remarkable letter in his bank deposit safe. "I protest against any suggestion of temporary insanity," he wrote. "For years I have been convinced of a man's right to dispose of his life as his eonscience approves. I am weary of this world. I do not know of any duty I have not performed and I want to. avoid the problems besetting my few remaining years. I am only acting after long and eareful consideration during weeks of preparation."
