COST OF PROHIBITION

Rec. Nov. 12, 7.0 p.m. WASHINGTON, Wednes. The Prohibition Bureau for the fiscal year ended June 30 expended an average of 125 dollars per case in the prosecution of 62,902 cases of violation of the liquor law. This does not include funds expended by the Department of Justice and other Federal and State agencies. In the enforcement of prohibition the Bureau has spent a total of 9,416,000 dollars, of which -±,xcs8,000 dollars were collected in fines, and property valued at 1,287,000 dollars was seized.
