FORTNIGHTLY MEETING OF ROTORUA DISTRICT COMMITTEE
The usual fortnightly meeting of the management committee of the Rotorua Cricket Association, was held on Monday evening. Mr. H. L. Musgrave presided over a large attendance. An apology for absence was received from Mr F. Reed of Mamaku. Reference was made by the chairman to the passing of the late Mr. E, W. McCardell and the loss which distriet cricket had sustained through his death. A vote of sympathy was accorded, memhers standing for a moment. in silence. Mr Lewis reported that the mat had been repaired and that new pins' ,had heen made to replace those lost on Labour Day. The following points and results of games were reported. Albion 4 points" Ngongotaha, 0; Mamaku 4, City 0;; High School and Old Boys did not complete their mateh and points willbe announced when the game is con-; cluded. Draw for Series The draw for the next series of matches resulted: — Albion v. Mamaku at High School No 2 ground, umpires, Messrs Fuller and Kelly; Old Boys v City at Gov-] ernment Grounds, umpire Mr. Catt;: High School v Ngongotaha at High School No. 1 ground, umpires Messrs Clark and Moule, The purchese of two new bats for the Association was left in the hands' of Mr Lewis and the treasurer. Mr Musgrave reported in regard to the visit of the secretary of the New Zealand Cricket Councijt, Mr. Wins8r, during the previous week .and referred to several points of interest which had been discussed. The secretary was instructed to write informally to Mr. Winsor and obtain a ruling covering the whole question of the playing of substitufes in matches.
