CARS DAMAGED

COLLISION NEAR CATHOLIC CHURCH ON HILL AT

OHINEMUTU Two cars were badly damaged on the hill near the Roman Catholie Church at Ohinemutu, about 9.30 p.m. on Saturday, when a car driveri by Sidney Davis, of Tarewa, struck the rear of a stationary vehicle which had been parked on the side of the road by Mr. Reginald Honan, of Gisborne. Mr. Davis was proceeding to Rotorua from Tarewa; and apparently did not perceive the parked car. He struck the fight-hand rear wheel and shot across the road into the ditch on the other side where his car turned over. Mr. Honan had experienced engine tro'uble- and had left his car while he went to obtain asslstanee. When he rettirned about 10.55 p.m. he found a break-down van on the point of towing away his damaged car. Although Mr. Davis was severely shaken by the impact he was not serioUsly hurt .
