EXPLOSION IN LABORATORY SEYERELY INJURES SCIENTIST RECENT AMERICAN DISCOYERY. Times Gable. Rec. Nov. 6, 5.5. p.m. LONDON, Thursday. The "Times" Helsingfors correspontent states that an explosion of the mysterious newly-discovered atomic element "87" severely injured the scientist M. Wartovaare, who will probably lose his sight. Elemlent "87" was recently indentified in samaraskite by American experts. It is believed to be indissoluble owing to its high inflammability. M. Wartovaare was attempting its isolation when a terrifie detonation wrecked the laboratory, Despite his injuries, he was able to make a statement expressing his opinion that the accident was due to "87's" radio active influence on perchloric acids.
