TALKS WITH QUEEN CLAD IN LOIN CLOTH AND SHAWL STRANGE FIGURE AT COURT

Rec Nov. 6 5.5. p.m. LONDON, Thursday. Mahatma Gandhi, in loin cloth and shawl, was amongst the 400 guests including members of the Indian Round Table Conference at Buckingham Palace. Their Majesties shook hands with the visitors at the head of the great crimson carpeted staircase and later moved to the flower-decked state rooms, conversing with their guests. They chattered several minutes with Mr. Gandhi.
