SHORT CIRCUITS
KEEP PLIERS HANDY. A practice which many motorists have followed to good effect is that of keeping a pair of pliers in the poc- i ket of the car nearest the driver. This tool is used frequently for a score of purposes, and it is a nuisance to go through the tool kit each time. Also, when it's handy it means that jobs get done which otherwise would be put off and then forgotten entirely. LOOK UNDER THE CAR. When the car has stood awhile look underneath for any oil which may have leaked from! the engine, gearbox, or back axle, or water which has dripped from the radiator. Thus early warning is obtained of any faulty joints or parts which would otherwise develope slowly and cause ultimately considerable trouble owing to serious loss of oil for example.
