PEGGY SALAMAN LOWERS GLEN KIDSON'S RECORD "WHAT ENGLISH GIRLS CAN DO"

— By Telegraph — Copyright.)

Rec. Nov. 5, 12.2 a-m. CAPE TOWN, Thurs. Miss Peggy Salaman, the 19-year-old English girl, landed early this morning in a De Haviland Puss Moth, one day, one hour and 23 minutes ahead of Commander Glen Kidson's record. She left Lympne at 11 p.m. on Friday and shared the actual piloting of 64 hours with her navigator, Douglas Shore, a young native of Kimberly. Replying to the Mayor's congratulations Miss Salaman said: "It has been so thrilling. I do not know whether I am on my head or my heels. I have had such experiences. I wanted to show what English Girls can do."
