TENNIS AND CROQUET CLUBS OPEN THE NEW SEASON
BOWLING COMPETITION There was a large muster of club members and visitors on Saturday when the Rotorua Tennis Glub opened its new season. The eourts were in good order and weather conditions were very pleasant. In deelaring the eourts officially open for the season, the Mayor, Mr. T. Jackson referred to the fact that tennis courts were included in the lay-out for borough parks and rqserves at present in the course of preparation. He had heard that there were at times complaints of overcrowding on the club's courts and it might be that in the future, the extra playing accommodation which the borough might provide, would solye the diffieulty. The president, Mr. W. A. McLean, who introduced Mr. Jackson, briefly referred to the encouraging prospects for the new season and expressed the bope that it would he successful in avery way. During the afternoon, a Yankee minutes duration, was played.
