The hall was brightly decorated with flowers, and multi-coloured streamers while a large decorated Christmas tree, proved a decided attraetion to the delighted youngsters. The bazaar was opened early in the afternoon by Archdeacon F. W. Chatterton, who spoke briefly of the splendid work being done by the missions in all directions. He congratulated the many willing helpers upon the fine exhibition and the efficient manner in which the various stalls were organised. In reference to his recent trip to Napier he stressed the splendid spirit of self sacrifice prevalent there, giving as an example the manner in which the prisoners, released during the disturbance, did all the good work in their power and then reported voluntarily to headquarters that night The Iadies who assisted to make the bazaar the success it undoubtedly proved, were Mesdames Wiltshire and Weeks, who controlled a cake and sweetj stall; Mesdames Plummer, Orsler, and Oakes, sewing stall; Mesdames Holland and Henderson, and Miss N. Holland produce and flowers stall; Mrs.. Knowles, ice-cream stall; Mesdames Polglase, Butler and Kingsland, afternoon tea; and Misses Baker and Smith, Christmas tree. "J '
