HAWERA, Wednesday. The rumour that the Hon- R. Masters, Minister of Education, would be nominated as Coalition candidate to oppose Mr. C. A. Wilkinson (Independent, Egmont) is discounted by a letter from the Leader of the Reform party, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, to Mr. F- Gawith, the offieial Reform candidate, in whieh Mr. Gawith is informed that he is the Coalition nominee. Mr. Coates further states that where both United and Reform candidates have been nominated to oppose the sitting member the Government will choose. between the two. The list of selected candidates for such electorates would he published shortly.
