Rec. Oct. 29, 1.17 a.m. LONDON, Wednes. Mr. Ramsay MacDonald interviewed at Seaham, where he is awaiting his own figures, said the election results were astounding. The most gratifying features were Mr. J. H. Thomas' notable win and Sir Herbert Samuel's - defeat of his Conservative opponent"Nothing," he said,. "shows more clearly that the election has been national and not fought on party issues. The Manchester "Guardian" in a leader., says: "The new Parliament wiil be Protectionist to tbe core- Mr. MacDonald's. tragedy is just begin-
