LABOUR CABINET USES POST OFFICE SAVINGS BANK FUNDS PEOPLE'S SAVINGS IMPERILLED

RUGBY, Monday. A disclosure by Mr. Walter Runciman, M.P. (Lib., St. Ives) to the effect that " a substantial part of the JPost Ofiice Savings Bank fund was in April and again early in August lent to bolster up the depleted dole fund, and also Mr. Henderson's statement that this need not cause anxiety in the minds of depositors, have led both Mr. Snowden and Mr. MacDonald to reveal that savings had been in peril, but that this was now averted, thanks to steps taken by the National Government. "I am sure there is going to be an overwhelming majority for the National Government," said Mr. Snowden, in his final survey. "All my information leads me to helieve that there is going to be a big Labour slump."
