ALBION BEAT SCHOOLBOYS ON CALL OF TIME
BURTON'S GOOD INNINGS »■ With two minutes to play, and three runs to win, Albion, in their match against High School, on Saturday, had one of the narrowest cricketing victories on record. Usually, at critical moments such as this, batsmen crumple up and go to pieees, but -with 78 to his credit already, Burton hit a brisk three to bring his own tally up to 81 and win the match for his, side. Batting first at the previous Saturday's play, the school boys knocked up the excellent tally of 203 for their first strike, but when Albion went to the wickets on Saturday, a good scoring first wicket partnership between Burton and Hinton, gave them the victory right on the call of time. Their chief objective, over the closing stages, was to pass High School's tally before the time bell, and with six wickets down for 207,- they just won out. Burton was still unbeaten with 81 against his name, and Hinton, who fell to a catch in the field, had 67.
