Band at Speedway The serviees of the municipal band, at the usual charge, are to be made available for the opening of Rotorua Speedways on Labour Day. Motor-cycle Races Labour Day will be celebrated on Monday next by the inauguration in Rotorua of a new sport filled with thrills, spills and speed. The Rotorua speedway company have constructed a dirt tra'ck on the Te Ngae Road and on Monday, New Zealand's most celebrated speed kings will give exhibitions of the fine art of broadsiding at high speed. Some of the Auckland riders who have entered for events on this, the opening day, are famed throughout the Dominion, and in some cases have defeated visiting crack riders from both Australia and England. This new sport should prove a great attraction, especially as this occasion is its first introduction to the district and citizens of Rotorua can be assured of a thrilling and entertaining afternoon.
