EYENTS IN ENGLAND SWAY PARTY'S YIEWS ON ELECTION FURTHER CAUCUS HELD
WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Reform Party to-day held a further caucus when, it is authoritatively stated, the question of postponing the general elections was the main topic of discussion. Previously the Party had come to a tacit understanding that ' the elections would be postponed and a similar decision was arrived at by the United Party, but now it is confidently stated that the Reform Party is swinging over again toward an early election. One of the factors influencing the Party's views has undoubtedly been the trend of events in England. The position now is extremely interesting and it is significant that a meeting of Cabinet was called after the afternoon sitting of the House of Representatives to-day. It is expected that further caucuses will he held by both parties before the Government makes any pronouncement. One of the" controversial questions to he settled is whether the Government will go to the country as a Coalition or as two separate parties. Opinion on this question is by no means unanimous.
