PROFESSIQNAL SEMI-FINALS SURPIRSE IN MORNING ROUND CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. The fourth and fifth rounds of the Amateur Golf Championship and the semi-finals of the Professional Championship were played at Shirley today in brilliant sunshine with a light cool breeze. The'main surprise of the morning was the failure of Shaw to hold the Shirley professional , H. R. Blair, who finished four up in the first round of the professional semi-final At the end of the first 18 holes the positions were: — H. R. Blair, 4 up on A. J. Shaw. J. Forrest, 6 up on R. C. Butters. AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP Fourth Round B. J. Smith junior beat J. P. Hornabrook, 5 and 4. J. P. Mortland and C. P. Roberts, one up. Colbeclc beat M. Duncan, 3 and 2. A. D. Duncan beat Dougall, 4 and 3. J. L. Black beat Walker, 1 up at the 19th. R. Wagg beat A. R. Blank, 4 and 3.. H. Black beat Silk, 2 and. 1K. Ross beat Quane, 4 and 2. Fifth Round J. R.
