EARLY ANNOUNCEMENT BY PRIME MINISTER EXPECTED POSTPONEMENT AGREED TO

WELLINGTON, last night. Now that the Labour xio confidence motion has been defeated, it is understood that the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, will shortly make an announcement regarding the general election. Caucuses of both the Coalition parties have agreed to a postponement of the election. The Prime Minister has so far been very reticent and his attitude has given rise to the speculation whether the English election results may not have a decided influence on the Government's policy
