COUNCIL SALARIES
MAYOR'S REPLY TO RATEPAYER ASSOCIATION POSITION AT MT. ALBERT "The secretary of the Rotorua Ratepayers' Association having seen fit to question in, a letter to the "Post" published this morning, a statement made by me on a former occasion as to the salary at present being paid to the Mount Albert town clerk it is, in my opinion, desirable to re-state the facts" said his Worship the Mayor Mr. T. Jackson, yesterday. - • "The town clerk of Mount Albert is receiving £650 per annum," continued Mr Jackson. He had, in addition an aasistant paid by the council whose salary was £350 per annum. The town clerk is at present on leave of absence and his engagement does not terminate until Mareh next year. The present acting town clerk is being paid a salary of £600 per annum and has the usual office assistants.
