RETRIBUTION OVERTAKES WIFE BEATERS SWIFTLY
TWO TRAGEDIES IN N.S.W.
I SYDNEY, Sat. The husbands of two women in different parts of the State were killed yesterday nnder similar circumstances. Walter Peddell, aged 50 years, was shot dead while violently assaulting his wife at Gunnedah. The police ascertained that Peddler's son attempted to protect his mother and a pea rifle was fired during the altercation. The other incident was at Surrey Hills, the victim being George Inman, aged 33 years, who, while striking his wife, was fatally shot with a revolver by a man who heard Mrs Inman's screams and went to her assistance, and after a terrific struggle was compelled to use the revolver for his own protection.
