The board realised that it was only the

He ref erred to the continued reduction in the amounts pvailable each week for work under No.5 scheme and gave the main reasons for the present position. The present, ,r egistrations of unemployed available for_worlc tofaRed over 51,000, which was considerably in excess of the numher anticipated, while the revdiiue available.5 was likely to be very much reduced if the present position continued. The board regretted the necessity for rationing, but under the cireumstances it was quite unavoidable.
