legislative council WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Legislative Council met this afternoon and went into committee on the Distress and Relief Amepdment Bill. The short title was defeated by 15 votes to 9 votes. The Judicial Proceedings (regulations of reports) Bill was defeated by 21 votes to 3 votes.
