BURST INTO TEARS

SCENE IN COURT WHEN ' | WIFE HEARS S.M.'S " DECISION ' - * f ACCESS TO CHILDREN There was a tense moment in the* Rotorua Magistrate's Court yesterday - when a young wife who had strenuously def ended an application by her" husband for access to the children oF their marriage, heard the verdict go* against her. Bursting suddenly into tears she rushed from the court-room but presently returned to stand anxiously in the doorway. The parties were Gwendoline.Morrice, married woman, of Rotorua, and her husband William Morrice,- now professional to the Taupo Golf Club. Husband and wife were separated in January of this year when eustody of the children was given to Mrs Morrice. The husband made his second application for access to his children which he claimed was consistently refused by his wife. Mrs Morrice, on her part stated that she did not consider it in the best interests of the children that they should see "their father and claimed that she was frightened that, if Morrice was given access, he would take one of the children away with him. After hearing evidenee, Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M., decided to allow Morrice to see the children on the first Sunday of each month. Upon hearing the decision Mrs Morrice burst into tears and rushed out of court but the Magistrate remarked that the parties should be able to reach some working arrangement. If they could not do so, and the wife was unreasonable in her attitude, he might find it necessary to review the application and grant greater access to the husband,,
