LONDON, Monday. One of the most shocking accidents in the history of motoring accurred at Maidstone to-day when a motor cycle and a baby motor-car crashed and burst into flames which soared 40 feet high. Five of the occupants of the vehicles were burned to death in the presence of scores of helpless onlookers. Four of the victims were trapped in the car, while the driver of the cycle ' was flung head foremost through a window. His pillion-rider was gravely injured, his clothes being burned off.
