ROME, Sunday. "With all due solemnity Don Alfonso Carlos, of Bourbon, was proclaimed King of Spain at the tomb of Don Jaime in the family vault at Torre del Lago. Within a week of his reconciliation with ex-King Alfonso, Don Jaime, of Bourbon, the Spanish Pretender, has died suddenly of heart failure at the age of 61. Don Jaime was the head of the House of Bourbon- Anjou, descendants of Don Carlos. They were excluded from the, succession to the throne of Spain in 1837. He was born in Switzerland. He claimed to be the true heir to the throne in 1909 and again in 1928, by proclamations directed against the Government established in Spain. Don Alfonso, his father's brother, was born in London in 1849. He married a Portuguese princess.
