OBITUARY

mr charles ricketts, r.a. LONDON, Thursday. The death has occurred of Mr. Charles Ricketts, R.A., aged 65 years. Mr Charles Ricketts was born in Geneva in 1866 and received his education in France. In 1889 he became joint editor, with Mr. Charles Shannon, R.A., of "The Dial," and later founded the Vale Press and was the designer. and publisher of the Vale books and publications. In later years he became noted as a painter, a sculptor, an engraver, a writer on art, and a designer for the stage. Pictures of his are hung in the National Gallery and in the Luxeniburg, Paris.
