WELLINGTON, Thursday. The banking returns for the September quarter revealed a further fall in Government deposits and in free deposits. The Government deposits are down £205,314 compared with the corresponding period of last year. Free deposits have decreased £4,212,510, and fixed deposits have been increased £2,433,288. The Government deposits total £2,694,786; free deposits total £16,590,6961, and fixed deposits total £34,180,556. Advances have been decreased by £1,175,836, the total being £50,224,004. Diseounts total £709,553 compared with £1,107,061. The note circulation has contracted from £6,039,175 to £5,584,542, and coin and bullion total £6,942,332. .
