british mediator conversation with premier on reciprocal treaty SIR NEWTON MOORE'S VISIT

AUCKLAND, Monday. Diseussions in conneetion with the proposed reciprocal trade treaty between Canada and New Zealand-- will take place in Wellington this week between the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes and Major-General Sir Newton Moore, M.P. for Richmond in the British House of Commons, who formerly was Prime Minister of Western Australia. Sir Newton Moore arrived by the Niagara to-day from Canada where he had several eonsultations on the question of the Canadian-New Zealand trade treaty with the Canadian Prime 'Minister (Mr R. B. Bennett) and the Canadian Minister of Trade and Commerce, (Mr H. H. Stevens). Sir Newton Moore, who is vicepresident of the Dominion Steel and Coal Corporation of Canada is on his way to Australia and has broken his journey to bring his friendly influence to bear in an endeavour to end the presdnt traide difficulties between the two Dominions. "If I can he at all helpful in assisting to arrange a treaty which will be beneficial to both countries I shall feel my stay has not been in vain," he said.
