Rec. Oct. 5, 7 p.m. SYDNEY, Monday. Eight Hour Day passed quietly owing to the usual procession of gaily decorated lorries, banners, and trade displays being dispensed with on the ground of expense. The customary sports gathering was, however, carried out. The weather was glorious for the holiday.
