REVOLUTION HAS COME BY ACT OF PARLIAMENT AND WITHOUT FIREARMS WORLD'S FINEST POLICY

— Bv Teleeranh — Convriehtl.

Rec. Oct. 4, 5.5 p.m. SYDNEY, Sunday. Speaking at the Eight-Hour Demonstration dinner in the Trades Hall last night, the Premier, Mr. J. T. Lang, explained that the policy of the repudiation of the sanctity of contracts by Act of Parliament, which seven years ago had ostracised his party was now the finest policy in i the world. "People in our midst have advoc- i ated an armed revolution as the only means of emancipation," he said. i "The revolution has come without j the accompaniment of firearms, in the ; way the Labour Party always said it ! would come, namely, by Act of Par- j liament. "Every parliament has arbitrarilyj repudiated contracts by Act of Par- I liament; every parliament has agreed , that a bondholder who does not con- i vert receives no interest at all and every nation has abolished the gold standard. "This revolution, like all others, has brought tremendous suffering and misery. It will continue a while, but Australia will soon emerge on the road to prosperity.
