FURTHER AMOUNT FOR SUPERVISION COSTS The Works Committee of the Ro- j torua Borough Council aroused some ■ discussion at Wednesday's meeting when it tabled the following remit: "That the attention of the Fin- j ance Comittee has been called to the state of the funds available to this committee, and has been advised that unless more money is available for supervision, all men employed under j No. 5 Scheme must be discharged" As an outcome of this remit, the Finance Committee recommended that the sum of £200 origmally allocated for footpath work,' should be transferred to unemployment relief in order to meet the position. Some discussion arose around the advisability of transferring further money to unemployment relief, in view oi the extent to which the council has already eontributed in this direction. The Mayor (Mr. T. Jackson) said ; that at the present rate of payments, supervision costs for at least four i months would be provided by the j transfe.r oi this money.
