HOPE EXPRESSED THAT PARTY COALITION WILL LEAD TO FULL FUSION POLITICAL ASSOCIATION'S VIEWS
WELLINGTON, Friday. At a special committee meeting of the New Zealand Political Association the president submitted the following resolution which was passed unanimously : "That this Association, having for a considerable time persistently advocated the amalgamation of the United and Reform Parties, congratulates the respective leaders on the formation of the Coalition Government in an attempt to cope with the existing economic conditions, and while expressing the hope that success will attend its efforts, the Association also trusts that the course now adopted will ultimately result in the abolition of party differ ences so as to ensure the elimination of trir angular contests at the next general election. Only by such means can stable Government be assured and a party with sufficient strength to deal with the financial and economic adjustments necessary be returned to power."
