The newspaper "La Prenza" prints a despatch stating that 85 men were hanged by order of Governor Canabal of Tabasco State to avenge the lyncbing of the Mayor, Senor Chable, of the town of Agnadtilce. Senor Chable is said to have provoked the ire of the townspeop'e in connection with the kidnapping of a girl who died of injuries suffered when she fell from a horse when being abducted. The townspeople killed Senor Chable and Governor 'Canabal had the perpetrators strung at intervals along the highway.
